Today’s Sunday Express has an interesting article, giving some apparent insight into the inspiration behind Peter Capaldi’s new costume.
Since it is the sunday tabloid press it should be taken with a pinch of salt, but if true it certainly gives some depth to a relatively simple outfit.

It's probably worth noting he is also wearing a waistcoat, and not the cardigan he was sporting before.
ReplyDelete...Even looks like a fabric supplier we know made it...
Are Capaldi's purple and black shirts just plain off-the-rack shirts, or are they made by the same people who made the white shirt?
ReplyDeleteThey are wine and dark blue, and they are off the shelf.
ReplyDeleteOh. Do share. I'll get it in the blog for all to find.
DeleteI know nothing factually of the purple and black/dark blue shirts, although with the collars being regular and set photos making them appear rather regular and untextured I think it's safe to say they're basic off the shelf ones (I don't know the exact ones, but from my own shopping I know M&S and Primark do very similar ones).
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know what the ring Capaldi's wearing is?
Rumours were that it's his wedding ring disguised for the show as he rarely takes it off, but apparently that's false. While it would be cool if it was for the story, I'm a big fan of rings so I'm hoping it's just his fashion and therefore something easy to find :/
Has anyone ever ID'd the holey sweater? Looks quite Comme de Garcons, Yohji Yamamoto to me, but it's not something I can recall ever seeing in a collection.
